03 March, 2016

Running is simple and fun, and this is what running enthusiasts did by participating in the fourth edition of the IL&FS 'I-Run-For-Fun' event with Shree Naman Group as the Hospitality Partner.

After getting a roaring response to the earlier three editions, the most recent I-Run-For-Fun event was open to both corporate and running fanatics. Scheduled on Sunday, February 21, 2016, starting from 6.00 am onwards, this event received a tremendous response as people participated in huge numbers. The whole-hearted participation of over 5,000 participants helped the event to reach to new heights.

About The 'I-Run-For-Fun' Event
As every year, the 'I-Run-For-Fun' event had a focused objective of promoting a healthy and fit lifestyle. The race was divided into 2 categories, 5 km and 10 km and was flagged off by Mr. Ramesh Bawa, Managing Director & CEO, IL&FS Financial Services at the IL&FS Financial Center.

The 5 km race was for children under 12 years accompanied by parents while the 10 km race was further categorized by age groups i.e.:

  • Open Category – 15 - 45 years for Men and 15 - 40 years for Women
  • Veteran Category – 45 - 55 years for Men and 40 - 50 years for Women
  • Senior Veteran Category – 55 years and above for Men and 50 years and above for Women

Apart from this, a separate race was also organized for the specially challenged children with NGO ADAPT (Able Disable All People Together), formerly known as Spastic Society. Around 15 children took part in the race, which served as a great inspiration. To end the event on a lighter side, the crowd was kept motivated and entertained by few troop of Bhangra dancers performing live combined with hit numbers. Shree Naman group being the hospitality partner left no stone unturned in turning this event into a memorable one. Everything was well taken care of by the hospitality team.

The well-organized running event encouraged corporate and running fanatics to be well prepared and give their best shot. Overall, the event was a memorable achievement for the running aficionados.
